off to beanerland

oh dear- i dislike this photo so much, but thought it would be appropriate, it being the long weekend and all. the pig looks stunning as per usual, but it makes me look like a dead beat mom, so skid. i wasn't around for this photo op to be able to whisk the pig out of harms way (aka- drinking moosehead off a cottage rock).

pig is going to grandma's for the long weekend, and i am off to halifax till tuesday, some solid beaner time in my near future, i picture us swimming, drinking margaritas, spooning and dancing. in fact- i am not doing anything unless it involves one of these things. or all of them at once.

then pick pig up and take her to the cottage- sigh- amy, stu, dottie, neko, simon, bug and bot. perfection really.
week off here i come!

take me out tonight.

busy busy busy!

1) going to halifax to smoosh faces with the one and only robeaner!! so excited, sweet valley high dream dates here i come! this is so amazing, as there is almost no one i enjoy more than this lovely little lady!

2) jeanette got booted last night, not happy. she was incredible, i don't think america should vote about anything anymore, just not allowed. hopefully going to see them live in september with brooke and my mo.

3)every since watching 500 days of summer last week, i have been listening to the smiths exclusively. pretty awesome. it reminds me of grade 8 when jeremy kessler asked me to be his girlfriend on the bus ride home, and a hour later he broke up with me. we spent the rest of the summer listening to the smiths and watching the breakfast club, over and over again. emo besties we were. anyhow, some of the lyrics are so powerful, and so eerily romantic, such as:

"And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine"

anyway, it explains why i was so moody entering grade nine at least.
love 'em anyway.

4) the lady who found layla in the garbage in abacos, bahamas added me to facebook yesterday. her message was this 'i think you may be the owner of petit pois?'. that was layla's name before i changed it, don't think i should have now, it was such a cute name. sigh, petit pois and moi. sweetness.

please find the lyrics to 'the night they drove old dixie down' below, this song makes me feel too much, i just drove to work with it on repeat, and i feel like the lyrics are so powerful that you need to take a solid look!

Virgil Caine is the name and I served on the Danville train
'Til Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again
In the winter of '65, we were hungry, just barely alive
By May the tenth, Richmond had fell
It's a time I remember, oh so well

The night they drove old Dixie down
And the bells were ringing
The night they drove old Dixie down
And the people were singing
They went, "La, la, la"

Back with my wife in Tennessee, when one day she called to me
"Virgil, quick, come see, there go the Robert E.Lee"
Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good
Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest
But they should never have taken the very best

Like my father before me, I will work the land
And like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand
He was just eighteen, proud and brave, but a Yankee laid him in his grave
I swear by the mud below my feet
You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat

kupono.

not cool. i was sad to see him go last night. he is a stunning dancer, especially in the mia michaels choreographed dance he did with kayla last week. this is the only show i watch, and i literally don't breath for some of these routines.

cowboys.

my sister just reminded me of something i used to do frequently when i was little. i would take my pajama bottoms off and run around the basement pretending my pajama bottoms were a lasso, and i would lasso pretty much everything. i forgot about how much i loved pretending i was a cowboy.

tuesday.

grand jete about it.

hello. i have decided to take ballet again, pick up my new kicks this weekend. i am stoked, and seriously hoping SOMEBODY helps me install a ballet barre in my home. i am very excited about this, it has been too long.

in other areas of nostalgia- my friend jenny and i have been you tubing sweet valley high episodes since last night- lame i know, and in german subtitles but how hard did you love that show? jessica wakefield being a borderline harlett while elizabeth always donned a rose colored cardigan. geeesh, how could you not love it?

also!!! wedding tonight, stoked stoked stoked.
